💶 Can I Get a VAT Refund?

💶 Can I Get a VAT Refund?

Yes — VAT refunds may be possible, especially for Premium and Business Members.
However, some conditions apply, and the process depends on how and where you purchased the goods.

🛍️ If You Purchased the Item Yourself

Only the seller (merchant) can refund the VAT — myGermany cannot do this directly, but we can support you with the required documents.

📄 Required: Proof of Export (MRN / ATLAS)

  • For items over €1,000, we automatically prepare a customs declaration (MRN) when shipping outside the EU

  • For items under €1,000, a customs declaration is not generated by default (but we can provide a document afterward if needed)

If you need documentation after the item was shipped, we can issue a "Bescheinigung für Umsatzsteuerzwecke" for a €20.00 fee.

These documents can only be provided after delivery to your non-EU destination country.

📌 Important: VAT refunds are voluntary — the seller may decline, even with export proof.
